Rehearse mode is a before-the-meeting pass. You pick a topic you expect to come up and the app drafts structured guidance for it. The output is a four-section card: Watch for, Frameworks, Questions to ask, and What to avoid. It uses the same shape as a structured coaching card, so what you prep is what you see live.
What rehearse is for
You walk into the room with the thing you would want a chief of staff to whisper to you already queued up. The questions you should ask. The traps you should avoid. The framework the conversation probably fits. Having that in your head before the meeting changes how you listen in the first five minutes.
How to start a rehearse
- From the dashboard. Click New rehearse, type a topic, and press Generate.
- From a meeting with a Brief attached. Topics the Brief flagged already surface as suggested rehearses. Click one to generate guidance for it.
What to type
Short and specific wins. A tight topic produces tight guidance. A broad topic produces generic guidance.
- “Pricing pushback from a 50-seat prospect” beats “sales objections.”
- “Delivering performance feedback to a tenured senior engineer” beats “feedback.”
- “Explaining a six-week slip to a skeptical exec sponsor” beats “project delays.”
What you get back
The four-section card renders inline. Each section is a short list, not a wall of text:
- Watch for. Signals and phrases that tell you where the conversation is actually going.
- Frameworks. One or two named approaches that fit the shape of the topic.
- Questions to ask. Specific openers to pull more information out of the other side.
- What to avoid. The common mistakes for this kind of conversation.
Edit any section inline if you want to lean the guidance in a direction. Your edits are what the app remembers.
How rehearse meets live coaching
During the meeting, if the engine detects a topic you rehearsed, the rehearsed guidance surfaces as a coaching card at the moment it is needed. You do not click anything. You do not open a different pane. The card appears in the same overlay you already use. The structured sections render the way you saw them in prep.
Keeping a rehearse around
Save a rehearse to your Knowledge Base and the app will use it on future meetings on the same topic. This is how a rehearse goes from a one-time prep to a reusable asset. The second time you walk into a conversation about pricing pushback, the guidance is already better than the first time.
What rehearse cannot do
- A rehearse is a draft. The real meeting will go somewhere else. The output is a starting point, not a plan to execute.
- Rehearses are only as good as the topic you give them. Vague in, vague out.
- A rehearse does not replace a Brief. A Brief is grounded in documents you attached. A rehearse is grounded in the topic string plus general knowledge.
Where rehearses live
Rehearses live on your machine. The topic you type is sent through your own API key and your own provider. The app does not proxy the request. If you use a local provider, the rehearse never leaves your machine at all.
Where to go from here
- Live coaching. How the overlay works during a meeting and how rehearsed guidance slots into it.
- Knowledge Base. How to save rehearses and other content for future meetings on the same topic.
- Meeting Brief. The document-grounded prep that suggests which rehearses to run.
